Website Competitor Benchmarking

In 2017, we worked with the VisitDenmark team on website benchmarking and design trends. VisitDenmark were in the process of reviewing the current destination website presence and required industry input during the research phase to establish how the website should be developed going forward, exploring every avenue before making a decision.

For this, the #DTTT developed an interactive one-day workshop which included an inspirational talk, ideation session and design sprint covering the following areas;

Workshop

The workshop kicked off with a talk introducing Destination Website Trends, followed by an interactive ideation session with #DTTT experts, discussing current and future trends and reviewing the competitive landscape.
Mural was used to create 4 interactive Design Ideation Boards;
  1. Website Benchmarking
  2. Web Design Trends
  3. Marketing Trends
  4. Expert Mapping Session
We identified real examples and cases to apply to the destination, which included a collaborative process inviting active group participation for each area where the team could add their own thoughts and ideas.
To finish, we worked with a group of remote experts on a 2-hour design sprint, extensively and creatively developing their thoughts and expertise which was then carefully mapped out and prioritised into different stages from ideation to launching.
