What you can expect

Local food, gastronomy and restaurant culture are a central component of the destination offering. While some DMOs are heavily marketing their gastronomic offering or foodie culture within the destination, others rely on foodie influencers and the local restaurants and businesses to put the destination on the foodie map.

This workshop focuses on innovative ideas and concepts to develop a winning food theme strategy. If you are already developing and marketing food themes or not, we'll take a look at successful concepts, foodie influencers and content that resonates with passionate foodie visitor profiles.

Sara Kiyo Popowa of Shiso Delicious, being a successful influencer herself, will present some of her most successful content, learnings and takeaways from her own perspective. We will also share some winning food theme strategies, going behind the scenes of some of the most successful destinations in this field. Restaurant weeks, festivals and food strategies will be explored and new ideas will be developed as part of ideation and design thinking sessions.

 Ramona has been with the Digital Tourism Think Tank since before the inaugural Digital Tourism Innovation Campus took place in Barcelona in 2012. Her experience of working with countless destinations, industry bodies and businesses throughout Europe’s tourism industry makes her well placed to head up the Digital Tourism Think Tank’s day to day activities and ensure our exciting programmes, from events to research, continue to set the industry benchmark in thought leadership.

Mastering the skill of benchmarking and with a passion for digital, Ramona is as passionate about the #DTTT’s new Transformation work as she is about core research and consulting.
