Good Morning Disruptors.
10:00AirBnB: Disrupting Travel to the Benefit of Travellers
AirBnB's arrival to the travel industry has proven disruptive in every respect and has certainly caused a stir all round. Whilst their presence has been and for many in travel, continues to be, controversial, others view it as an example of how to approach business differently in 2014. We've invited Jeroen to share the AirBnB story with Europe's leading Destinations and to share their vision for the future, as they move increasingly towards building a business model around ever more personal experiences, interactions and a human to human economy. In many respects AirBnB can be considered part of the destination experience.

10:25Embracing Disruption: TripAdvisor's Move into Mobile
Mobile itself as a medium has already proven disruptive in the travel industry, as destinations and business struggle to keep up with the rapid pace of uptake from consumers. The real winners are proving to be the 'new kids on the block' who've crafted new business models which challenge 'traditional' ways of doing things. Recognising the importance of inventing and reinventing, TripAdvisor has shown that as a business it adapts and remains acutely in tune with the needs of travellers. Talking about the recently announced integrations with the likes of Uber, Viator and La Forchette, Rory Kenny, TripAdvisor's Head of Mobile Development will share the company's visions for now and for the future.

11:25Cape Town Tourism: Thinking Strategically on Approaches to Mobile
If you visit Capetown.travel today from a mobile device, you'll be pleasantly welcomed by a mobile optimised site, so it may seem strange to consider that for Cape Town Tourism, thinking about mobile strategy is a journey that they are only now beginning to embark on. For many destinations, launching a mobile optimised site was an important milestone in thinking about mobile, however it is also one that many are beginning to re-think, from a strategic point of view. We worked with Cape Town Tourism in helping them to take a step back and think about what exactly it was they were looking to achieve in mobile and setting out the steps in getting there. We're thrilled to have Velma Corcoran joining us all the way from South Africa to shed some light on their mobile journey to date, talk more about the approach they're taking for the future and what other destinations can learn from their experience.
