Tourism Business Portal
The European Commission is organising a seminar on IT in Tourism 21 March 2014 in Brussels. The seminar will elaborate on the opportunities and challenges posed by the information and technological progress for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in tourism. It is organised for tourism SME associations, chambers of commerce, businesses already operating in tourism, start-ups in tourism, national tourism organisations, young entrepreneur organisations, etc. All of these play a key role in boosting digital literacy. Special focus will be placed on the presentation of the "Tourism Business Portal" and other IT tools to the tourism SMEs.
The Tourism Business Portal has been developed in partnership Seggitur, as part of the European Commission's activities to boost competitiveness of SMEs in tourism in general and their uptake of IT in particular.
On 21 March, during this seminar on IT in Tourism, the European Commission will launch the Tourism-IT Portal, which will provide a one-stop-shop for SMEs containing IT tools and information packages for setting-up, managing and promoting tourism businesses. The Digital Tourism Think Tank is supporting the content of this workshop and we'd recommend destinations and tourism businesses to join us in Brussels on 21 March 2014!
