We're looking to get exhibitors in the tech-zone or innovators in the tourism industry involved as an ‘Innovator’ in mobile. The Think Tank is offering, on an invitation only basis, the opportunity for you to take part in ‘Mobile: Thought Leaders and Innovators’, an extended two hour session taking place on the Tech Stage, right in the heart of the tech zone on Thursday 6th November between 10:00 and 12:00.
As an innovator, you’ll be joined in the second part of the programme alongside other innovators, experts and travel industry leaders. In this session, Tine Thygesen, recognised by TheNextWeb as one of the ‘Top 100 Women in Tech’, will open the floor to our Innovators to each pitch their business to our experts and to the audience in three minutes, followed by a lively debate about how mobile is disrupting the travel industry.
If you’d like to join WTM, the Digital Tourism Think Tank and Tine Thygesen on stage for this exclusive Mobile Thought Leaders and Innovators session, all you have to do is be one of the first ten to sign up through the Digital Tourism Think Tank’s Innovator Application. In just a few clicks you could be speaking to the industry about your mobile products and services and how they change the way we discover, plan share, buy and sell travel.
If you’re interested in being part of the other sessions hosted by the Digital Tourism Think Tank, please get in touch to discuss your interest.
We look forward to seeing you in November.

Session 1: Storytelling
11:00 Destinations in Focus: Stories that Sell
Moderated by Nick Hall| Digital Tourism Think Tank
Destinations are often faced with new challenges, not least the ever evolving role of digital in shaping opinions and creating inspiration. Over the past ten years, the visitor and of course the visitor planning cycle have evolved to become more complex and more sophisticated.
This session looks at the rise of deeply immersive and engaging approaches to telling stories about destinations, rather than simply 'selling' the destination as we have done for years. Destinations, experts and professional story tellers all tell their stories and discuss the future role of content in digital strategies and how to seed it effectively.
Mark Henry| Central Marketing Director - Tourism Ireland
Kash Bhattacharya | Budget Traveller
Nicholas Montemaggi| Digital Press Officer - APT Servizi, Emilia Romagna Tourist Board
Martin Stoll| Sparkloft Media
Session 2: Mobile
12:30Visitor Buying Cycle: Mobile in the Mix
Moderated by Nicholas Hall| Digital Tourism Think Tank
Smartphones has completely transformed the travel industry in just a matter of years. Whilst innovative travel business, including disruptors and newcomers, have shown the huge potential of smartphones to inspire, support, and even transform the travel experience, most are still struggling to get to grips with mobile.
In this short but essential session, we'll take the audience through each stage of the visitor planning cycle and hear from industry leaders and experts about how mobile is impacting each stage, before, during and after a trip. If mobile has a role in your strategy (it does!), this session is not to be missed.
