Heidi Sørvig has more than 15 years of experience from the Norwegian travel industry. Since 2010 she has been the CEO of Visit Sørlandet, DMO of Southern Norway. Heidi is an active spokesperson for the need for changes in how one thinks about the traditional role of DMO´s. She believes that changes towards an organization based on digital and user generated content and customer interaction have to start with management and active leadership.
Visit Sørlandet has through the business cluster “Arena Usus” established a new way of thinking interaction and cooperation for the travel industry. Instead of focusing on traditional marketing, the industry is working on how to interact and communicate with their existing customers in order to create repurchase and positive customer recommendations.
