@cinepix joins us at #DTTT Campus between 20 – 21 September 2018. #DTTT Campus is a unique workshop-event for destination marketing organisations from all over the world and it's taking place on the beautiful island of Jersey.
As one of our guest content creators heading up a workshop of his own, we wanted to grill @cinepix and ask him a few questions about his work and why you should be heading to Campus to see and work with him later this year.
Who is @cinepix?
My name is Mario Sahe-Lacheante and I’m a specialist cinemagraph creator/director. Originally South African, I now reside in London with my wife and our newborn baby boy.
What piece of content are you most proud of?
My proudest work spans a few aspects: I have some personal concepts I really like (this bitcoin shot seems to have grabbed a lot of people’s attention) and then professionally, I worked on a series for SEAT, which I’m really proud of. The reason I’m so proud of my SEAT work is because of the high level of professionalism that had to be poured into the shots, with lots of lighting, editing and polishing to really capture the brand, rather than just doing a quick Instagram shoot.
In your opinion, what makes a great piece of content?
Great content grabs people’s attention, regardless of form or medium. Art, design, photography, film and powerful writing can all be classed as great content if it grabs people’s attention and communicates an effective message, more so if it invokes an emotion. In the digital space, great content needs to stand out from the flood of everyday content that streams down our feeds, and manage to communicate with us, often in an instant.
What techniques and expertise you will cover during your workshop
I’ll hopefully be able to help cover some basics on how to make good cinemagraphs and what to look out for in good content, and also cover some of the important aspects of what makes them great for branding and advertising, I’ll also look at the numbers behind some case studies.
Why shouldn’t we miss your workshop?
Cinemagraphs are a powerful medium that’s growing in its demand and employment around the world. Knowing how they can best serve a campaign alongside other commissions, such as photography and film, is vital for moving forward with powerful and attention-grabbing marketing campaigns.
