We’re very excited to be holding #DTIC2013 this November; the second edition of our flagship Digital Tourism Innovation Campus. We’re back to Barcelona for the two-day event from the 21st to 22nd, which this year is going to be held at the world-famous Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona. With 'Digital Strategy and the Visitor Buying Cycle' as the Campus' theme, we will cover every aspect of digital strategy in tourism marketing during the event, with experts and best practice case studies from a huge number of destinations. In addition to this, this year’s DTIC will see the launch of the DTIC Awards, which will see destinations awarded across a range of categories within digital marketing. Furthermore, with the Business Day on November 20th we are offering our attendees the opportunity to book one-on-one meetings with key industry players.
Before the #DTIC2013, this September we will be taking our first steps outside of Europe with the Digital Tourism Campus Dubai. On the 19th, we will be holding a full-day Campus at MAKE Business Hub in Dubai, where our emphasis on showcasing the excellent work in the field of digital marketing within the travel and tourism industry will take a Middle Eastern focus.
In line with our objective to inspire and encourage creative, successful destination marketing through the promotion of industry best practice, we are now offering advanced training workshops tailored for DMOs with experts on various topics within the field. The first in our series of training offerings will be the Mobile Fundamentals Workshop with Tine Thygesen, CEO of Everplaces, to be held on August 29th in London and September 26th in Antwerp, Belgium. Through this workshop, destinations will learn the fundamentals of mobile marketing and strategy, exploring the trends in mobile technology and best practice industry case studies.
We are going to be holding The Digital DMO Debate at this year’s World Travel Market in London, between 15.30 and 16.30 on November 6th. In this controversial debate alongside some of the leading movers, shakers and opinion makers in the digital tourism landscape, we will tackle some of the most challenging topics facing tourist boards today; do they remain relevant in a hyper-connected world? Taking part means not only hearing from leading experts on this topic, but having a chance to influence the questions asked and have your say in the big debate, which is unlike any other event at the WTM.
We have also teamed up with the International Federation for IT & Travel and Tourism (IFITT) to host a high-level Executive Digital Roundtable on the back of ENTER 2014 in Dublin, one of the industry’s leading conferences on tourism and technology. From 14.00 to 17.30 on January 21st 2014, we will pull together some of the industry’s leading players and thought leaders for a highly-focussed afternoon session debating the big issues concerning technology and tourism. The findings of this first Digital Roundtable will be published online and shared with the industry, don’t miss out on your chance to be part of it.
