US National Parks
Google has long used virtual reality to enable the wider public to be able to experience things as part of Google's Arts & Culture project. Being able to explore the hidden worlds of the National Parks in the US is one of Google's initiatives in the VR space enabling students to explore the National Parks and learn all about them. The virtual tours are guided by local Rangers and are available online, through the Google Arts and Culture app and Google's Expeditions app, Google's virtual reality teaching tool that an be used in schools and learning environments.
What is unique and interesting about the National Parks virtual reality experience is the attention to detail and focus on guided tours around specific national parks within the US. For students and the wider public, this is a unique way of experiencing visitor attractions in a guided and interactive manner. Viewing places from different angles and perspectives contributing to a truly immersive experience which works particularly well when viewing the content via the Google cardboard viewer.
