Collaborative, on-site
strategic workshops

Dedicated full-day and multi-day sessions address your destination's specific strategic priorities directly in person. Our expert facilitators work alongside your leadership team to cover digital governance, brand strategy, sustainability and operational leadership. Every session concludes with fully developed strategic frameworks, working toolkits and practical policy documents retained for immediate local execution.

The working discipline

The stages haven't changed. What comes out of them has.

DTTT's team are certified IBM Design Thinking Practitioners, working through the same five stages in every session: empathising, defining, ideating, prototyping, testing. What changes is what a group builds while moving through them.

Testing

Workshops centre on an interactive planning model that brings participants together around shared destination priorities. Incorporating targeted AI tools throughout practical drafting stages accelerates output creation, delivering functional strategy documents and working tools ready for immediate regional deployment.

Tested across real destination challenges

We have continuously updated this strategic approach across live tourism projects, sustainability planning and flexible delivery formats. Practical work with destination leaders ensures every exercise delivers real value.

Complete internal capability transfer

Your internal team gains the skills to facilitate future planning cycles without external reliance. Every participant retains access to a specialised digital library featuring operational destination tools.

The range of subjects

Adaptable workshop structures for specific destination challenges.

Our core facilitation framework provides a repeatable structure for any destination priority. Delivery formats adapt precisely to your operational requirements, ranging from targeted single-day executive sessions to comprehensive multi-phase programmes.

Workshop topics adapt to your primary strategic objectives, covering emerging technology, brand strategy, sustainable destination management, digitalisation and executive leadership. Every focus area applies practical frameworks to build long-term internal capability and align local stakeholders across your tourism economy.

The method, in practice

How our workshop process works in practice

Each session applies a structured working model to your chosen focus area. Customised working materials match your priorities while the underlying facilitation process guides your team directly from strategic analysis to final working assets.

Where a group actually stands

A programme starts by establishing where a group actually stands, not where it is assumed to stand. Awareness of a subject and structured, everyday use of it are two different starting points, and the day is built around the distance between them. Foundational questions, governance, ethics, what is actually allowed, get addressed early and in a single block, so they do not interrupt the practical work that follows.

Established before the day is built

Built around the roles in the room

The practical stages are then built around the roles actually in the room, not one generic exercise for the whole group. A strategy lead, a content manager and a partnerships contact are working on different problems even inside the same subject, so each works on material that maps onto their own job. Every participant leaves with something specific to their own challenge, built during the session itself, rather than a shared set of notes.

One exercise per role, not one for the group

What a team takes home has changed

DTTT's design thinking practice, run for more than a decade, used to send a group away with a folder of printed templates. A session now produces a handbook, a prompt library or a working strategy document, each written for the group's own roles and tasks, a digital, AI-first version of the same idea. Because that material gets built live using AI, the session proves its own argument. A group that spends the day building with AI has already seen what it can do, before anyone needs to tell them.

A handbook, a prompt library, a strategy document

Not run from a fixed script

Sessions are not run from a fixed script either. DTTT rebuilds them from direct participant feedback, what felt too advanced, what was not relevant enough to a specific role, what needed to be more hands-on. A single day is rarely the end point. Capability comes from use over time, so a session is usually followed by further contact, working through participants' own use cases as confidence builds.

Formats

Four shapes a session takes.

The shapes below are starting points, not a fixed menu. Most sessions draw on more than one, built around the time and the mix of people a destination actually has on the day.

Pathway 01
AI and XR Impact Days
Typically technology-led and hands-on

Hands-on time with new technology, tested and put to work on a real challenge.

AI in Practice

A show-and-tell format across text, image, video and voice, covering tone of voice, user experience, brand opportunities and responsible use.

XR Immersive

Hands-on testing of mixed and immersive reality tools, from spatial capture to AR-driven visitor experiences.

Pathway 02
Build-with-AI workshops
Typically on-site, collaborative and build-led

Working sessions that build real tools with AI, so a team leaves with something it owns.

Build-With-AI Workshops

Collaborative sessions producing a working tool by the end of the day.

AI Impact Sessions

Focused strategy sessions with a companion web app and a written follow-up.

Bespoke Programmes

Multi-session engagements, scaled from a baseline to advanced build clusters.

Pathway 03
Domain-specific workshops
Typically cohort-based and in-person

Live sessions across marketing, destination management and sustainability, drawing on expertise DTTT also delivers on demand.

Marketing and brand

Builds on the MarTech Workstream at Future. Destination. Brand.

Destination management and digitalisation

The same 12 Stages framework that runs on demand, delivered live as a facilitated sprint with DTTT in the room, working through whichever stages match where the destination stands today.

Sustainability

Builds on the hands-on format CAMPUS already runs.

Pathway 04
Organisational and industry programmes
Typically cohort-based, in-person and multi-session

Work delivered across a destination's own team or its wider business community, from a single organisation through to a national programme.

Keynotes

Strategic keynote presentations for destination leaders

DTTT takes the stage at the events shaping the tourism industry's agenda, carrying the same expertise that runs through every DTTT programme.

Our keynote presentations frame complex sector developments for major industry summits and municipal leadership panels. Backed by twenty years of practical delivery with global destinations, each session translates macro tourism trends into actionable priorities.
