Locations in Utrecht: The Smart Venue Finder of Utrecht
Aiming to attract more international events to Utrecht, Event Connectors developed a completely new smart, user-friendly venue finder, directly integrated into the Utrecht Convention Bureau website.
The Utrecht Convention Bureau wanted to attract more (international) visitors and conferences to the city and region. Event Connectors built a smart, user-friendly venue finder. The result: organisers can now easily find the best locations in the city and region of Utrecht.
(Inter)national Ambitions, Outdated Tools
The old venue finder on the Utrecht Convention Bureau website did not work well enough. It was difficult for organisers to search for and compare conference venues. Additionally, venues were unable to present themselves effectively with all important information. This problem stood in the way of the goal of attracting more (international) events to Utrecht. The Utrecht Convention Bureau urgently needed a better solution.
A Smart, Custom Venue Finder
Event Connectors got to work. We developed a completely new venue finder. This platform is directly integrated into the Utrecht Convention Bureau website.
Our step-by-step approach:
Listening to the customer: We spoke with the Utrecht Convention Bureau, venues and organisers. What do they really need?
Smart filters: We built custom search filters, such as number of people, type of meeting and room capacity.
Rich information: We added the option to display many details per location: beautiful photos, information about sustainability and the distance to Schiphol Airport.
Direct contact: Organisers can now request a quote directly from the venue itself via the platform.
Integration: We ensured a technical connection with the existing website of the Utrecht Convention Bureau, together with digital agency Eagerly.
Support: Even after the launch, we continue to assist with questions from staff at the conference venues and the addition of new locations.
Find Faster, More Visible, More Requests
The new venue finder has been live since January 9, 2025. These are the first results:
Approximately 25 new locations have been added to the venue finder.
So far, 141 requests have been made on the venue finder.
