The Grand Tour of Catalonia Digital Passport is an innovative tourism promotion tool that transforms the exploration of Catalonia into an interactive, accessible and motivating experience. It is based on a route of more than 2,000 kilometres that crosses Catalonia, designed to discover both the country's great icons and its lesser-known corners.
The Catalan Tourist Board sought to modernise its digital promotion strategy, offering a more intimate, inclusive and attractive experience for travellers, eliminating the technological barriers that limited the use of previous tools.
The project arose after detecting the low adoption of a previous mobile application. In response, a more accessible solution was developed to avoid required downloads, it was The Grand Tour of Catalonia Digital Passport, created by Identify Travel in webapp format. This platform turns the route into a game in which users earn points, unlock rewards and overcome small challenges as they explore the territory.
Through simple activities such as obtaining digital stamps, answering questions, and visiting strategic points, travellers are encouraged to follow the entire itinerary. This allows not only the most iconic destinations to be highlighted, but also less crowded areas to be discovered, promoting a more balanced distribution of visitors and contributing to a more sustainable and responsible model of tourism.
