Visit Greenland: See Greenland Through Local Eyes

Visit Greenland

Greenland Goggles is a metaphor for seeing Kalaallit Nunaat through a Greenlandic lens - being present, aware and connected to your surroundings. It reflects how our ancestors lived for centuries and how local guides still navigate Greenland’s breathtaking landscapes today.

Tourism in Greenland must be locally-anchored - not only to respect the culture, but because this vast, complex land requires local knowledge to truly understand. This mindset helps travellers experience the country more like locals.

Inspired by Inuit Snow Goggles

The idea draws from the world’s oldest sunglasses: inuit snow goggles, crafted to block harsh sunlight and stay focused on their target. Now reimagined as Greenland Goggles 2.0, they symbolise filtering out modern distractions - slowing down, embracing change and focusing on the present moment.

So when we say, “put your Greenland Goggles on”, we’re inviting you to experience Greenland like a local and to gain a fresh perspective that might stay with you long after your journey.

Through Greenland Goggles, we seek to connect travellers with the knowledge, stories and ways of life of local communities, offering an authentic experience of Kalaallit Nunaat as guests rather than tourists.

Greenland Goggles is not a product or a piece of technology - it is a narrative. And that is precisely what makes it innovative. In a tourism industry often driven by growth, visibility and speed, this project takes a different path. It introduces a new way of thinking about travel and destination branding - one based on presence, calm and local grounding.
