MyStreetBook works to generate attraction through diversity and hyper-personalisation to provide the perfect trip in order to support tourism on a more personal level and balancing between lesser known businesses and mass tourist attractions.

foodieon 푸디온

Taehyun found foodieon in order to bring attention to lesser known, local eateries and providers. Their strength lies in branding and content creation. Through crowd-funding they were able to share revenue with farmers and revitalise the local economy through their food tours. They found that they had social and economical impact, giving motivation to farmers during a time of uncertainty, as well as creating opportunities as local creators. In Korea, rural areas look for younger creators in order to bring a new perspective to traditional eateries.

SDGs Impacted:

  1. Supporting rural businesses and making opportunities for them to share their trade (No Poverty, Quality Education, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Reduced Inequalities
  2. Working with farmers in order to provide quality produce and ensure security of future harvests (Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life on Land, Partnerships for the Goals)

Key Takeaways

1. Startups provide a new perspective on sustainability and can lead to innovations that are unique to networking opportunities such as this.

2. Curate programs that educate businesses on proper sustainable practices can support internationally rather than consider peers strictly as competition, adding value to these businesses.
