Event Tech Almanac 2025

June 2025
Digital

The Skift Meetings Event Almanac 2025 represents the third edition of our comprehensive guide to event tech. This annual report examines leading event tech platforms, and provides practical guidance for planners looking to discover, select, and implement the most adequate event tech solutions.

Skift Meetings developed this almanac through industry outreach and rigorous research based on responses from 85 leading event tech companies to a detailed intake survey. These responses provided deep insights into their platforms and services, as well as the event tech market. We supplemented this data with in-depth interviews of 11 independent experts, whose collective wisdom shapes our guidance on tech strategy, discovery, selection, procurement, and integration practices.

Our research confirms what planners already know: event technology is now essential for creating meaningful connections between brands and audiences while measuring event success. With AI advancing rapidly and organizations facing pressure to maximize resources, building an effective tech stack is crucial for planners. The right technology choices can dramatically impact attendee experience, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.

Business events present unique technical challenges that set event tech apart from other tech offerings. Major tech companies have avoided entering this space, largely due to its bespoke nature, high service requirements, and modest profit margins. Planners are all too aware that events operate on strict deadlines with no room for system failures, yet real-world testing remains impractical. Different event types demand specialized solutions. What works for trade shows may fall short for conferences, and vice versa. Live events require a high-level of support and must adapt to varying infrastructure globally.

To make matters worse, many planners struggle to evaluate vendor claims or fully understand platforms through demos alone. Long-term contracts can limit opportunities for innovative solutions, and integration between different systems often proves complex.

This guide addresses these challenges by providing comprehensive platform profiles, expert guidance on selection and implementation, current analysis of the event tech sector, and tools for finding new solutions. While technology plays a vital role, success ultimately depends on the skilled professionals and proven processes behind it.

This almanac serves as your practical resource for making informed decisions about event tech in 2025.
